About Us
The Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa ReStore sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, and housewares, much of which is donated by members of the community. All proceeds directly support Habitat Tuscaloosa’s new home construction and home repair programs.
Job Title: ReStore Box Truck Driver & Associate
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Previous experience driving a 16' box truck (or similar)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safe lifting, loading, and unloading procedures
- Dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 16' box truck to complete pickups of donated items from homes, businesses, and community partners, as well as deliveries of purchased items to ReStore customers
- Load and unload items such as furniture, appliances, building materials, and housewares, ensuring safe handling and transport
- Serve as a professional ambassador for Habitat Tuscaloosa by providing excellent service and positive interactions with donors, customers, and community members
- Assist with general ReStore operations, including:
- Receiving, cleaning, pricing, and organizing donations
- Stocking and maintaining the sales floor in a clean and orderly manner
- Assisting customers with purchases and loading items into their vehicles
- Selling items to customers and processing transactions at the register
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance needs to management
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall store operations
- Drive Forklift
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience driving a 16' box truck (or similar)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred, but not required)
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and work in an environment subject to heat, cold, and dust
- Must be able to work flexible hours, Monday–Saturday (some Saturdays required, no Sundays)
