Position Summary:
The ReStore Associate plays a vital role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers and donors. This position is responsible for assisting with loading and unloading donations, maintaining a clean and organized store, HElping customers find what they need, and ensuring that all interactions reflect the mission and values of Habitat for Humanity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide information about products, store policies, and the Habitat mission.
- Ensure a positive and welcoming shopping experience for all guests.
- Sales Transactions:
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to complete purchases accurately.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and maintain accurate register drawers.
- Donations and Inventory Handling:
- Assist with unloading and loading donations from customer vehicles.
- Lift and move items up to 50 pounds safely and effectively.
- Process & price donations
- Work may include exposure to various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.) during donation intake and loading activities.
- Forklift experience is appreciated and will be utilized in daily operations.
- Store Organization and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor, checkout area, and backroom.
- Stock shelves, arrange merchandise displays, and assist in store layout updates.
- Participate in daily cleaning routines and special projects as needed.
- Maintaining the lawn and façade of the restore ensuring that weed and grass are not overgrown and watering any plants
- Team Collaboration and Representation:
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support a positive team environment.
- Represent Habitat for Humanity’s mission, values, and commitment to the community.
- Follow store policies and uphold safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience a plus.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions. (this position is outdoors)
- Forklift operation experience (certification is a plus).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and a passion for community-focused work.
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to drive a medium sized box truck.
Work Schedule:
- Regular workweek is Tuesday through Saturday.
- May require occasional flexibility.
- Tuesday 9AM-4PM
- Wednesday 9:30AM-5:30PM
- Thursday 10:30AM-6:30PM
- Friday 9:30AM-5:30PM
- Saturday 8:30AM-4:30PM
Work Environment:
- Warehouse/retail store setting with regular exposure to moving merchandise and outdoor conditions.
- Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with frequent interaction with the public.
Job Type: Full-time
