Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Arkansas is hiring a Construction Crew Leader to guide our volunteer-powered homebuilding program. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned tradesperson or all-around handyman to make a lasting impact teaching others, running day-to-day site operations, and helping build homes that change lives.
Whether you have 5 years of experience and want to grow, or 25 years and want to settle into a meaningful role, this position offers the chance to combine your skills with purpose.
What You'll Do
- Lead volunteers, partner families, and small crews through residential construction tasks (Siding, drywall, flooring, trim, painting, etc.)
- Teach, demonstrate, and coach with patience—making sure all volunteers feel confident and included
- Manage daily job site operations: setup, cleanup, tool use, and material handling
- Maintain safety and quality standards while keeping the site welcoming and fun
- Assist with inspections, punch lists, and warranty work as needed
- Communicate progress and needs with the Construction Manager and staff team
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on background in residential construction (jack-of-all-trades: drywall, carpentry, painting, etc.)
- Ability to lead and teach volunteers of all skill levels
- Patience, communication skills, and a commitment to safety
- Comfortable lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working outdoors in all seasons
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Background check required
