Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County (HFHNCC) seeks a talented professional with a passion for nonprofit development, marketing, and communications to serve as its Development & Marketing Manager. This unique role blends donor data management, gift processing, and campaign coordination with creative marketing and communications to advance Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
The Development & Marketing Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of donor data, implementing effective fundraising systems, and developing strategic communications that engage donors, volunteers, and the broader community. Working closely with the Director of Development, this position is ideal for a collaborative, detail-oriented professional who can connect the dots between data and storytelling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Development & Data Management (40%)
- Serve as primary lead for DonorPerfect, including infrastructure, data entry, protocols, gift processing, and report writing.
- Manage timely receipting and donor acknowledgment processes.
- Build and manage queries and reports for appeals, donor recognition, campaigns, and reconciliation with the Finance department.
- Conduct prospect research and prepare donor lists for appeals, stewardship, and cultivation activities.
- Document and implement procedures for giving campaigns and donor database best practices.
- Train team members on DonorPerfect to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
Marketing & Communications (40%)
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual marketing and communications plan.
- Manage HFHNCC’s website (WordPress) and ensure content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead social media strategy (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) to advance fundraising, volunteer engagement, and ReStore visibility.
- Manage digital marketing efforts, including Constant Contact campaigns, Google Ads Grant, and analytics tracking (Google Analytics, social insights, YouTube, etc.).
- Create branded collateral such as brochures, flyers, ads, newsletters, and signage.
- Draft press releases, pitch media stories, and maintain media relationships to increase Habitat’s visibility.
- Oversee the content lifecycle of the Habitat Builder newsletter and HOPE podcast.
Campaigns & Events (15%)
- Take lead on Giving Tuesday and Annual Appeal campaigns.
- Support planning and implementation of Annual Breakfast, Fall Golf Outing, and other development/marketing events.
- Provide marketing support for donor tours, dedications, and volunteer appreciation events.
Administration & Professional Development (5%)
- Respond to marketing/design requests through Jotform.
- the Finance department
- Participate in professional development opportunities to strengthen fundraising and marketing expertise.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising, development operations, and/or marketing/communications.
- Strong proficiency with donor databases (DonorPerfect preferred) and digital marketing platforms (Constant Contact, Canva, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, WordPress).
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management, organizational skills, and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, generate reports, and translate insights into action.
- Flexible, collaborative, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
