What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fund Development Coordinator position at Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter?
The Development Coordinator supports Habitat for Humanity’s mission by leading fundraising and community engagement efforts. This role focuses on building relationships, coordinating impactful events, content writing, storytelling, and generating revenue through sponsorships and direct donor outreach. The position requires a diverse set of skills to meet the established fundraising goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize and execute fundraising events, including securing event sponsors
- Prepare and manage event registration and on-site event production
- Close out events, and conduct post-event debrief with team members
- Ensure all event information is updated in databases and various donor platforms
- Consistently work to achieve outlined fundraising goals as directed by the fundraising plan
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward local clubs, churches, and businesses for program sponsorships such as Team Builds, Faith Builds, and Project Adoptions
- Assist to create unique mission focused content for donor correspondence, newsletter, impact report, press releases etc.
- Conduct and compile research on prospective donors
- Assist in grant research, writing, and reporting
- Attend networking or other community events as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
- Previous experience with non-profit fundraising
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a MUST
- Strong computer skills; Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to organize and prioritize work while working independently with little supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills; Displays tact, diplomacy, and ability to work well with people
- Passionate about Habitat for Humanity’s mission
Working Conditions:
- Full time position primarily located in the Eustis office
- May be required to work occasional weekend or evening hours for special events
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid driver’s license with clean record and ability to be added to company insurance
Salary is $35,00 to $42,000 depending on experience.
