What are the responsibilities and job description for the Become a ReStore Chicago North Donation Attendant position at Habitat for Humanity Chicago?
The ReStore is Habitat for Humanity's ecosystem in action - every purchase, donation and volunteer hour breathes life into our mission. Each simple yet significant act contributes to bringing safe, affordable housing to the 1 in 10 Chicagoans who need assistance.
Every year, ReStore Chicago diverts over 800 tons of goods from the landfill and reinvests half a million dollars directly into the communities that need it most.
We invite people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to volunteer at our location at 6040 N Pulaski. From customer service to merchandising to event planning, ReStore Chicago offers a variety of volunteer opportunities geared toward individual interests and skills.
In addition to helping families create safe, decent, and affordable housing, you can expect a fun and rewarding time while volunteering. It’s a great place to interact with staff and volunteers while engaging with your community. Opportunities are available Tuesday through Sunday all year round, as well as during special events at trade shows and exhibitions.

The ReStore is Habitat for Humanity's home goods thrift store, where all our proceeds go directly into building affordable housing in the city of Chicago. Volunteering alongside our team, you'll help manage the intake and processing of donations as we prepare them for resale.
If you've got an eye for detail and love to organize, this is the role for you. In this volunteer position, you will clean, sort, and process donations to get them ready for the sales floor. This is a chance to gain some warehouse or retail experience and meet new people all at once!
To get started, you'll need to sign up and register for ReStore Volunteer 1st Shift, our orientation shift held most days. During this training shift, you'll get a tour of our store, shadow a staff member in our warehouse to learn the ins and outs of receiving donated goods and preparing them for resale. Once you have that under your belt, you'll be able to register for all the shifts that fit your schedule.
