Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support our construction operations and help advance our mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Position Purpose
The Warehouse Assistant supports the Construction Warehouse by assisting the Warehouse Manager with inventory tracking, order preparation, and maintaining a clean, organized warehouse.
Essential Functions

Assist the Warehouse Manager with inventory tracking and order preparation

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse

Receive and process deliveries from vendors

Load and unload materials for construction teams

Prepare materials for pickup by construction staff

Support projects including new construction, rehabilitation, and critical home repair

Lead small groups of volunteers and ensure a positive, inclusive experience

Promote and model Habitat construction safety standards and best practices
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
-
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Ability to promote and support Habitat for Humanity’s mission

Strong verbal communication skills

Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people

Experience working with volunteers, facilitating groups, or providing instruction

Team-oriented mindset

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Work Environment
While this role is primarily located in the warehouse, occasional travel to construction sites may be required to deliver materials and support construction operations.

Warehouse is an unconditioned facility with a climate-controlled office and break room
-
Construction sites may include rough or uneven terrain and outdoor conditions year-round

Construction tools are provided

Access to a shared computer station for email, reporting, and timesheets
Physical Demands

Ability to stand for extended periods, often on uneven terrain

Ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly

Ability to work on ladders and at heights up to two stories

Ability to work in varying weather conditions
