Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to a young man with autism, and other related needs in both home and community settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals who have autism and behavioral challenges related to severe auditory sensitivity and anxiety.

Responsibilities:

• Support individual in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through tailored programs.
• Support Individuals in maintaining safe and appropriate behaviors.
• Facilitate social interactions and community involvement, promoting independence and inclusion.
• Document progress and report any changes in clients’ conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.

Experience

• Experience working with adults with autism/intellectual disabilities required.
• Strong behavioral support skills, including crisis prevention/de-escalation.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and positive rapport with the client and family
• Previous experience in behavioral health and management of behavior crisis is preferred.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuinely caring personality

Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
