What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Engines Technician position at Haas Inc.?
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
A Small Engine Technician will perform a variety of duties to keep our small engine equipment running properly. This includes maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and tools, and performing routine maintenance. This position ensures that tools and small equipment are in safe, reliable working condition to support field and shop productivity.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Perform preventative and routine maintenance, inspections, and tune-ups on all small tools and equipment.
· Diagnosis and repair small engines, including saws, generators, compactors, and handheld equipment.
· Inspect trailers and equipment for safety, reliability, and DOT standards.
· Operates various tools, machines, and equipment as needed.
· Properly disposes of hazardous materials and recyclables.
· Keep accurate service records and logs.
· Weld or fabricate items as needed.
· Work closely with Shop Foreman and other Technicians.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area.
· Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the needs of the organization.
Qualifications:
· Education: High School Diploma or GED with equivalent work experience
· Experience: Experience working on small engines
· Driver’s License: CDL preferred but not required
· Able to read and interpret maintenance manuals and manufacturer’s instructions
· Working knowledge of mechanical functions
· Able to work overtime as required
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
· Lifting up to 50lbs
· Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing under equipment
· Working with grease, oil, fuels, and shop chemicals
· Exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment
· Mix of indoor shop work and occasional outdoor/field work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
