The Laser Metrology Technician is responsible for testing production Haas machines and managing the data that provides the basis for determining Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) codes for government export compliance.

The Laser Interferometer Technician will manage the laser testing and the data analysis of production Haas machines for the purpose of maintaining our ECCN database. Responsibilities include:

Education
One-year certificate from college or technical school is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Laser Metrology Technician is responsible for testing production Haas machines and managing the data that provides the basis for determining Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) codes for government export compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Have a thorough understanding of how to set up and use the Renishaw laser interferometer equipment.
- Perform laser tests on machines in production in an organized fashion by following a schedule and by coordinating with assembly managers and supervisors to get access to the machines as needed.
- Analyze data and create standard reports for all machines measured.
- Store test data on the network, keep the ECCN database updated and accurate, and keep the inside sales group updated in order to maintain the export control data in the SAP material master for each top-level product.
- Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.
- Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.

- 2 years of experience with CNC machinery, assembly or maintenance.
- Understands the geometry of a CNC machine and its effects on machining.
- Reads and understands blueprints.
- Experience using Excel and SAP.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting data.
