Duties
- Operate trucks with manual transmission and ensure safe driving practices at all times.
- Transport goods using refrigerated trailersspecialized vehicles.
- Load and unload freight as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Follow designated routes for deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries made, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Utilize forklifts or other equipment as needed for loading/unloading tasks.
- Operate dump trucks or roll-off trucks for specific delivery needs when required.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Familiarity with various truck types including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Strong knowledge of route driving and delivery driver experience is preferred.
