What are the responsibilities and job description for the PUMP DIVISION SUPERVISOR position at H2O Well Service Inc.?
PUMP DIVISION SUPERVISOR
Full-Time · In-Person · Deer Park, WA
Salary: Commensurate with experience · Reports to: Ownership
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Pump Division Supervisor is the most senior person onsite at H2O Well Service's Deer Park branch. You are the operational authority — the person field crews look to for direction, who customers escalate to when challenges arise, and ownership relies on to keep the branch running efficiently day in and day out.
This role is built around one core responsibility: leading the Pump Division. Approximately 75% of all branch operations falls under your direct oversight — pump installations, service calls, repairs, scheduling, and the team of technicians executing that work. The remaining 25% of branch operations are managed by off-site managers, and you will serve as the onsite point of coordination for those functions.
You are not responsible for new drill or pump sales, but you are accountable for costs — making sure work is done efficiently, expenses are justified, and the branch operates without waste. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with deep pump and electrical systems knowledge who is equally comfortable mentoring a technician in the field and approving a materials purchase at the office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
People Management & Branch Leadership
- Serve as the most senior onsite leader at the Deer Park branch, setting the standard for performance, professionalism, and culture
- Directly supervise a team of 6 individuals — including daily scheduling, job assignments, performance coaching, and development
- Coordinate with off-site managers overseeing non-Pump Division activities to ensure smooth cross-functional operations
- Conduct performance reviews and address personnel matters in partnership with ownership
Pump Division Operations
- Oversee all pump installation, service, and repair work executed by the branch — ensuring every job is completed on time, within budget, and to H2O's quality standards
- Assist technicians in the field and by phone with technical troubleshooting on submersible pumps, pressure systems, pump controls, pressure tanks, and related components
- Drive scheduling decisions alongside the service team, prioritizing jobs by urgency, crew availability, and customer commitments
- Ensure all completed work is accurately documented and closed out in ServiceTitan
Electrical Knowledge & Technical Training
- Apply strong working knowledge of pump-related electrical systems — motor controls, control boxes, wiring, load calculations, and diagnostics — to support crews and resolve field challenges
- Train and mentor Pump Technicians on electrical best practices as they apply to pump systems; must be qualified to teach and troubleshoot confidently
- Use diagnostic tools — voltmeters, ammeters, multimeters — proficiently and teach their proper use to technicians
- Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC standards and applicable local codes; escalate to a licensed electrician when sign-off is required
Cost Management & Expense Oversight
- Monitor branch operational costs including labor hours, equipment use, and materials; identify and flag variances to ownership
- Ensure accurate job costing through proper time tracking and materials documentation
- Find opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency without compromising service quality or safety
Customer & Service Quality
- Serve as the senior point of escalation for customer concerns that field technicians cannot resolve independently
- Maintain H2O's standard for clear, professional, and timely communication with customers — in person and by phone
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with pump installation and service — submersible pumps, pressure systems, pump controls, and related water system components
- Working knowledge of pump-related electrical systems sufficient to troubleshoot independently and train others; no electrical license required, but genuine competency is essential
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a team of field technicians in a trades or field services environment
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple active jobs and competing priorities without direct supervision
- Professional communication skills — comfortable with customers, crew, and ownership in person and by phone
- Computer proficiency — MS Outlook, Excel, and the ability to learn field service management software
- Valid driver's license; must be able to be onsite daily in Deer Park, WA
Preferred
- Experience with ServiceTitan or a comparable field service management platform
- Background in water well systems, water treatment, or broader water services
- Familiarity with NEC electrical code as it applies to pump systems and motor controls
- Washington State pump installer license or equivalent certification
- Prior experience in a supervisory, lead technician, or service management role in the trades
A Journeyman Electrician license is not required. Electrical knowledge and hands-on competency are what matter — licensed electrical work can be escalated appropriately.

- Dental insurance
- Paid time off and paid holidays
