H2O Innovation provides public works management services & operations assistance for water & wastewater treatment plants to municipalities, government organizations, and businesses across North America.
H2O is currently seeking an 811 Line Locator to join our team in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The 811 Line Locator is responsible for identifying, locating and marking underground public utility lines in response to requests made through the state 811 One-Call system. This position plays a critical role in preventing damage to municipal infrastructure, ensuring public safety and supporting excavation activities within the city service area.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to utility requests submitted through the state 811 system.
- Accurately locate and mark underground water and sewer utility lines using appropriate locating equipment.
- Interpret utility maps and GIS data to assist in accurate line identification.
- Mark utilities in accordance with the American Public Works Association (APWA) color code standards.
- Document completed locates, update records and maintain accurate work logs.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, excavators, engineers and internal departments regarding utility locations and potential conflicts.
- Inspect and maintain locating equipment and service vehicle.
- Assist Public Works crews with utility maintenance and repair activities as needed.
- Respond to emergency locate requests which may require after-hours, weekend or holiday work.
- Follow all applicable safety regulations and department procedures.
The Skills We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Experience in utility construction, public works or related field preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including walking long distances, lifting up to 50 lbs. and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to handle exposure to traffic, construction sites, uneven terrain and confined spaces.
- On-call or rotating emergency response may be required.
