What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers and Laborers position at H2A Complete II, Inc. (RBG P2)?
Workers must follow directions from the supervisor in charge. Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following: shovel, haul, spread manure, dig holes, ditches and trenches, tilling soil, applying fertilizers, transplanting, thinning or pruning crops and applying pesticides. Manually plant, cultivate and harvest vegetables, horticultural specialties and field crops. Hoe weeds in fields. May be required to do some incidental record keeping. May be required to do spot picking and/or clipping, include pulling weeds by hand. Plant seedlings while riding mechanical planter, by hand or using a vacuum seeder. May drive tractor, hook and unhook planter. Use hand tools such as: shovels, trawls, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears and knives. Cut produce and place in containers. Place containers on wagon in field and remove weeds from the containers. May place, plant, stake, and zip tie in larger vegetable containers. Pick, wash, sort and grade assorted vegetable plants. Water plants and replace hoses in the greenhouses. May move flower and/or vegetable containers from greenhouse to greenhouse. Place cut flowers in water and prepare for shipment. Pick up containers of flowers and/or vegetables and load them on shipping carts. Prepare or ready baskets of flowers for sale. May drive forklift to load and unload plants and produce on truck to fill orders. Sweep and clean out delivery trucks for next day’s deliveries. Clean and organize greenhouses and sheds after use. Help maintain, cover, and complete minor repairs to existing greenhouses, trellises, fences and farm buildings.
