Now Hiring: Field Estimator – Industrial and Commercial Projects
If you're someone who knows the nuts and bolts of mechanical layouts, installations, rigging and equipment, we want you on our team.
At H&S Industrial, we’re looking for a Field Estimator who can think strategically, estimate accurately, and collaborate effectively. You’ll be the bridge between what’s imagined and what’s built — working closely with project managers, field crews, and clients to bring projects to life.
What You’ll Do:
- Visit job sites and assess the real-world details others miss
- Build accurate estimates for millwright, rigging, and equipment installation projects
- Work directly with clients, project managers, vendors, and field teams
- Interpret blueprints, specs, and site conditions with confidence
- Provide cost comparisons and recommendations for self-performing vs. subcontracting portions of millwright and mechanical work.
- Evaluate labor, equipment, and material needs — and make sure nothing is overlooked
- Support hand-off to project teams and stay involved from bid to closeout
What You Bring:
- 3–5 years of experience in estimating, field coordination, millwright work or combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of industrial mechanical installations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills both in-office and in the field
- Ability to read blueprints, analyze scope, and anticipate challenges
- Proficiency in estimating software, database software and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
Bonus If You Have:
- Familiarity with crane, rigging, or specialty subcontractor coordination
- Knowledge of cost tracking and vendor selection
- Field experience as a millwright, foreman, or project coordinator
