Shift: 3rd Shift, Sunday – Thursday (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
Position Summary
The Preventive Maintenance Technician keeps facility equipment, machinery, and building systems running safely and reliably. This role executes the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule, performs routine inspections, and helps prevent unplanned downtime through proactive, detail-oriented care of plant equipment.
This is a 3rd shift position (Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM). New hires will train on 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) for a minimum of one month before transitioning to their assigned shift.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preventive Maintenance Execution
- Execute the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule on all assigned equipment.
- Complete all maintenance checklists thoroughly and accurately.
- Follow written directions and standard work instructions precisely.
- Perform outside and overhead work as needed.
- Meet or exceed established productivity goals.
- Demonstrate thoroughness in PMs and inspections, completing work in a timely manner.
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
2. Safety and Compliance
- Always observe and practice all safety rules and procedures.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other required safety protocols.
3. Documentation and Communication
- Identify and report equipment abnormalities, wear, or potential failures before they cause downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of parts used, hours worked, and maintenance activities performed.
4. Team Support
- Keep the maintenance shop and work areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Support other maintenance and operations staff as needed to meet plant-wide goals.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- 1 years of experience in industrial or preventive maintenance preferred.
- Vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance, HVAC, or a related field preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to read basic machine drawings.
- Familiar with general building maintenance.
- Mobile equipment operation skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to be trained and certified on all battery- and propane-powered vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) preferred.
- Forklift and/or aerial lift certification preferred.

Working Conditions
- Manufacturing/warehouse setting with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.

- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including outdoor conditions.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in designated areas.
