WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior Compensation Analyst in the HR function, you will drive the optimization of compensation processes, utilizing data analytics to deliver strategic insights that support the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive compensation programs for USA and Canada, including Puerto Rico. This role involves evaluating internal and external compensation data, ensuring pay equity, efficiently administering compensation practices, and contributing to the design of competitive and equitable compensation structures.
This hybrid role reports into our Compensation Lead and is based out of the New Jersey or New Jersey Support Office.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
Analyze external salary data to make informed recommendations on salary ranges and adjustments and perform geographical cost of living and cost of labor analysis
Leverage data analytics to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of compensation programs, providing actionable, data-driven insights and strategic recommendations for continuous improvement
Support in preparing comprehensive reports and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting compensation trends, market benchmarks, and program performance to inform decision-making and align with organizational objectives
Evaluate and classify positions within the organization based on job responsibilities, skills, and market data
Conduct job evaluations and market pricing for positions across all levels, ensuring alignment with internal structures and external benchmarks
Support the education and training of HR partners on best practices and strategic approaches to merit increases, promotions, and other compensation adjustments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, pay equity standards, and market competitiveness
Provide mentorship and guidance to Compensation Analyst, supporting their development in compensation practice
Manage the implementation of the annual compensation planning process
Collaborate with HR stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and define ownership of responsibilities across the team, driving efficiency and alignment with organizational goal
Lead compensation programs analysis related to bonuses and incentives
Identify opportunities to align job descriptions with internal and external market practices
Stay abreast of regulations and laws for USA, Canada and Puerto Rico related to compensation and ensure that compensation practices comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Coordinate project planning for scheduled and ad hoc initiatives
Conduct analyses to ensure pay equity within the organization, identifying and addressing any disparities and collaborate with HR and leadership to develop strategies for maintaining equitable pay practices
Up to 5% domestic travel may be required
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people with…
2-4 years' experience in compensation analysis, job evaluation, and market pricing
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with compensation survey methodologies and participation
Enthusiastic, curious and driven to learn
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Knowledge of compensation laws, regulations, and best practices, particularly for USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico

Compensation: salary range is $ 86,804 - $ 100,000 annually**
