Summary
We are currently looking for a Rapid Response Team Registered Nurse, Full time, to support our Moffitt South Shore Campus an ambulatory facility with providing Out-Patient Clinic visits, Infusion Center, Diagnostics, and Surgical services. Our nursing staff provides knowledgeable and skilled care within a unique interdisciplinary team. We offer CRRT classes and quarterly education workshops.
Responsibilities
Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients; young adult through geriatric. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments, identifies and report situations requiring further intervention, formulates and communicates goal directed plan of care; assures patient rights. Provides further nursing assessment and critical thinking to manage/intervene with patients presenting questionable or complex issues, or clinical deterioration in response to requests from direct care staff, concerned patients and/or their family members, and medical staff or from clinical concerns/observations during targeted rounds. Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team in regards to patient treatments, interventions and disposition according to existing policies and protocols. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and principles of quality improvement.

Responsibilities
- Recognize emergent situations and intervene accordingly per institutional and nursing policy such as (falls, sepsis, lab draw etc.)
- Follow nurse driven RRT protocol orders within the guidelines adopted by Moffitt During Code Blue includes: Defibrillation, IV/IO Access, Medication Administration, Rhythm Interpretation.
- Utilize critical thinking skills and involves other disciplines to aid in the provision of safe and effective patient care.
- Elicit significant clinical data from staff to effectively triage calls and responses.
- Collaborate with patient’s RN and physician regarding patient assessment and facilitate transfer as necessary to a higher level of care.
- Patient care: Assistance with Non-urgent EKGs, IV start or Port access for Echo’s or Bubble Study, administer PO sedation or medication administration for Imaging procedures.
- Conduct quality checks on : Code blue carts, Code blue bags, EKG machines, Echo Reaction Box, Imaging DAR (Department Appointment Report)
- Communicate with team to ensure all patients/visitors have vacated the building upon closure.
- The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- 2 years of inpatient hospital experience
- ICU/ PACU experience as a registered nurse
- Ability to work every Saturday
- Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing with 2 years in critical care/ICU setting.
- In lieu of Bachelors, an Associate's degree in Nursing plus 3 year of nursing experience plus an additional of 2 years in critical care/ICU setting for a total of 5 years nursing experience may be considered
- Preferred Education-Master's Degree
- Registered Nurse (RN) RN-Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of FL, or or a valid Multi-State privilege to practice in FL (must declare FL as primary State of residence within 30 days from date of hire if licensed in another eNLC compact state with multi-state privileges)
- Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) Is required at time of hire
