Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Highway Superintendent to lead our construction teams in delivering complex highway projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Directing activities of workers concerned with construction of highways, pipelines, or other construction projects
- Planning procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of paving project
- Conferencing with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution of work procedures
- Coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays and ensuring compliance with OSHA and H&K Safety policies
- Inspecting work in progress to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to construction schedules
- Preparing and reviewing reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjusting work schedules as needed
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or one year of related experience and/or training. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and problem-solving capabilities
- Familiarity with blueprints and job-related documents, mathematical skills, and basic computer proficiency
- Driver's license and clean driving record, ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE, and ability to meet physical demands of the job
