Position Description: The Field Technician supports our multi-family, residential, and commercial flooring divisions through site evaluations, field measurements, quality inspections, and service work to keep projects moving successfully. This role works closely with project managers, contractors, builders, property managers, and customers to coordinate solutions and ensure a positive project experience.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Multi-Family:
- New Construction Site Checks:
- Temperature & moisture readings, electricity status, material staging availability, extra prep work
- Meeting and forming relationships with onsite GCs at all new sites
- Installation quality checks
- Field measuring new construction buildings for carpet and LVP
- Servicing requests from sub-contractors (relaying information or questions to GCs or project managers)
- Measuring multi-family single units for replacement and providing cuts and products to PM
- Meeting with property managers to determine plans of action for replacement
- New Construction Site Checks:
- Residential:
- Assisting project managers in estimating remodel jobs
- Field measuring remodeling projects
- Meeting with builders/homeowners to solidify plans of action during remodels
- Repairing and/or diagnosing problems after installation
- Commercial:
- Site Check: Temperature & moisture readings, review overall progress
- Repairing and/or diagnosing problems
- Building rapport with onsite GCs and supervisors
- Other:
- Monitoring and managing smart loggers
- Servicing items
Other Duties As Assigned: Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.
Experience/Education Required:
- A construction or flooring background with the ability to read blueprints
- The ability to read a flooring spec and finish schedule
- Strong math skills required
- Microsoft Office efficiency preferred
- Valid Driver’s license required
