CNC Machinist Setup

Job Summary:The CNC Machinist will operate 2, 3, 4, and/or 5 axis CNC and conventional machines to produce complex aerospace parts, demonstrating a high level of cross-training flexibility. Candidates should have broad experience with various automated CNC machines and understand their operational capabilities, working independently with minimal supervision.Essential Functions:Operate multiple CNC and conventional machines, including Mills and LathesPerform pre-operational inspectionsInterpret blueprints, manuals, and job specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequences, and setup requirementsExecute complex machine setups independently, including adjusting jaws, tools, and offsetsUse forklifts to retrieve and load partsUtilize cranes and hoists for material handlingRun test operations to verify machine settings and programming accuracySelect and secure tools, fixtures, and materialsSet and adjust machining parameters such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting depthMonitor machine operations, making adjustments as neededVerify part conformance to specificationsTrack time spent on each task using designated systemsFollow continuous improvement plans and daily work proceduresNon-Essential Functions:Promote and maintain a safe work environmentKeep work area clean and free of debrisDocument completed job orders and maintain traveler paperworkMaintain quality recordsOperate specialized tools such as gun drillsCollaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to resolve machining issuesPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Experience:5 years CNC machining experience3 years conventional machining experience preferredExperience with manual and CNC machinesEquivalent experience at the discretion of hiring managementEducation:High school diploma or GED preferredTrade school certification or equivalent work experienceCertifications (Preferred but not required):Forklift or crane operator certificationANSI Y14.5 (GD&T) certificationID:qnkTyx
