Print Finishing Bindery Technician

Location: Carlstadt, NJ

A day in the life

You arrive, review the job ticket, and ready the finishing line. You dial in the cutter, fine‑tune the folder, and prep the stitcher so each piece runs true to spec. As work flows, you watch quality like a hawk—measuring, inspecting, and adjusting to keep every run crisp, square, and on time. When something drifts, you troubleshoot, fix, and get the line humming again. You stay in sync with teammates to hit deadlines, keep your work area spotless, and close the shift the same way you started: safe, organized, and on standard.

What you’ll handle

• Set up and operate bindery equipment: cutters, folders, stitchers, and related post‑press machinery
• Execute folding and finishing operations to exact production specifications
• Continuously monitor runs for quality, throughput, and efficiency
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to reduce downtime
• Inspect finished product for precision; make on‑the‑fly adjustments when needed
• Collaborate with the production team to meet schedules and goals
• Keep the work area clean and organized to support safety and efficiency
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies without exception

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing/bindery is a plus
• Background in a bindery or print production environment preferred
• Hands‑on experience running cutters, folders, stitchers, and similar equipment
• Sharp attention to detail and pride in precision work
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain bindery machinery
• Strong time‑management skills and calm under deadline pressure
• Clear communicator and dependable team player
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies

Nice to have

• Experience with UPS (shipping systems)
• Basic computer skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting pay up to $28.00/hour for candidates with full bindery experience and minimal training required
• $2.00/hour increase after 6 months based on performance
• Biannual bonuses based on performance and attendance (Summer & Christmas)
