We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mobile Diesel Technician to service Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas. This is a largely unsupervised, field-based role that requires strong technical ability, personal accountability, and consistent communication with leadership based in Summit, SD.
Position Overview
The Mobile Diesel Technician is responsible for providing on-site diesel diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance at customer locations. This role requires independent work, sound decision-making, and the ability to represent Coffee Cup and TA Truck Service with professionalism at all times. You will be trusted to manage your day, prioritize work, and communicate clearly with your supervisor to ensure jobs are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems, and related components.
Travel throughout Sioux Falls and surrounding communities to perform mobile service calls.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.
Utilize diagnostic tools and technology to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues.
Work independently in the field while maintaining regular communication with your supervisor in Summit, SD.
Accurately document work performed, parts used, and time spent on each service call.
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding repairs, timelines, and recommendations.
Follow all safety standards, DOT guidelines, and company policies at all times.
Represent Coffee Cup and TA Truck Service with integrity, professionalism, and a service-first mindset.
Stay current on diesel technology, repair methods, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or diesel certification preferred.
Proven experience as a diesel technician or mechanic, with mobile service experience strongly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and braking systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently with minimal supervision.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time and priorities independently.
Reliable communicator who can maintain consistent contact with leadership and provide status updates.
Professional demeanor with a strong focus on customer service.
Willingness to travel regularly and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
