Responsibilities
- Apply finishing techniques to concrete surfaces, including smoothing, troweling, and edging to achieve desired textures and finishes.
- Install rebar and metal reinforcement according to blueprints and schematics to ensure structural integrity.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely for mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute project specifications accurately.
- Assist with concrete forming, pouring, and curing processes while maintaining strict safety standards on-site.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required for placement and finishing of concrete materials.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, welders, and other trades to coordinate project activities efficiently.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in concrete finishing and construction.
- Experience with construction estimating processes to assist in project planning and material procurement.
- Proficiency in rebar installation, metal stud framing, masonry work, plastering, stucco application, and tile laying.
- Skilled in the operation of heavy equipment such as concrete pumps and mixers; familiar with heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; knowledge of schematics is a plus.
- Knowledge of flooring installation, trim carpentry, caulking, roofing, restoration techniques, and framing carpentry.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools like trowels, floats, screeds as well as power tools including mixers and grinders.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocols; commercial driving skills are advantageous.
- Basic welding skills; understanding of schematics related to construction systems is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship throughout each project phase.
