Job Overview - How You'll Contribute:
Join our Detail Team and be part of a fast-paced company that's revolutionizing the automotive industry! As a Detail Supervisor at our state-of-the-art Omaha Reconditioning Center (Part of the H H Automotive Group), you'll play a critical role in maintaining H H's high cosmetic quality and productivity standards. Estimated annual earnings range: $40,000 to $45,000, depending on Experience. The Detail Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workflow and quality control process within the detail shop. This role focuses heavily on inspecting every completed vehicle before it leaves the shop, coaching detail technicians toward consistent, high-quality work, and helping maintain an efficient, organized work environment.
The ideal candidate is someone who leads by example, communicates professionally, pays close attention to detail, and can balance quality standards with production flow in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Production
- Perform final quality inspections on all vehicles before completion
- Ensure all units meet cleanliness and presentation standards
- Provide coaching and feedback to detail technicians to improve quality
- Monitor workflow and prioritize jobs to meet deadlines
- Reduce rework, touch-ups, and comebacks through proactive inspection
Team Leadership & Communication
- Lead, coach, and support the detailing team
- Promote accountability while maintaining a positive work environment
- Communicate effectively with technicians, management, and internal departments
- Step in to support or cover the Detail Manager when needed
Shop Operations & Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop
- Handle and manage detailing chemicals in compliance with safety standards
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with weekly ordering
- Troubleshoot minor equipment or workflow issues
- Ensure proper closing procedures are followed
Administrative Responsibilities
- Utilize internal systems to track vehicles and workflow
- Monitor production flow and communicate concerns proactively
- Assist with documentation related to quality and performance
The Schedule:
- Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Qualifications - What You Need to be Successful:
- Previous automotive detailing experience preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to coach and develop team members professionally
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the day
- Lift and move up to 55 lbs
- Work in varying temperatures and shop conditions
