Position Summary:
The Body Technician repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and collision center specifications and quality standards.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Ensure the work area is clean and organized.
- Inspect work to determine the repair needs to specifications and work order.
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicles to perform repairs needed.
- Repair vehicles per work order.
- Notify management of additional repairs needed and any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised delivery time.
- Complete repairs using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, welders, sandblasters, corrosive chemicals, compressed gasses, flammable materials, and others not listed.
- Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
- Check completed jobs to ensure quality standards are met.
- Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair of vehicles as necessary.
- Maintain and wear all required safety equipment.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations.
