Position Overview
H&G Systems is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Project Manager (Special Projects) to support our Corpus Christi operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing smaller to mid-sized commercial HVAC construction projects from start to finish. You will walk jobs, develop estimates and proposals, manage execution, and step in to support field work when needed. This role is ideal for someone who understands both the office and the field and is comfortable taking full ownership of projects while leading by example on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Manage special projects from initial site walk and estimating through project completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met while maintaining strong communication with clients and internal teams. Develop accurate estimates and proposals based on field conditions, drawings, and specifications. Coordinate materials, labor, and scheduling while overseeing job progress and resolving issues in real time. Handle change orders, track financial performance, and ensure project profitability. Support and guide field teams, stepping in to assist with execution when needed, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and workmanship. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial HVAC construction with a strong blend of project management and field experience. Proven ability to estimate projects, develop proposals, and manage jobs from start to finish. Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, construction processes, and jobsite coordination. Comfortable working in a hands-on capacity and supporting field work as needed. Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license and ability to work locally in the Corpus Christi area.
