Job description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ needs, strengths, and challenges related to substance use and overall well-being.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, setting achievable goals and outlining appropriate interventions.
- Counseling Services: Provide individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support clients in their recovery journey.
- Resource Coordination: Assist clients in accessing community resources, including housing, employment, healthcare, and support groups, to enhance their recovery efforts.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises and provide immediate support, ensuring client safety and stability during critical situations.
- Advocacy: Advocate for clients’ rights and needs within the healthcare system and community, helping to reduce stigma associated with substance use disorders.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including counselors, physicians, and community organizations, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in social work and addiction treatment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse counseling or a related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively in a team.
- Familiarity with addiction theories, treatment modalities, and community resources related to substance use. Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental; commitment to supporting clients’ recovery goals.
Education:
· Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited program
· Licensure (LCSW)
