Space Planning & Merchandising Manager I

Responsibilities

Job Summary: Responsible for designing customized layouts that drive profitability, operational efficiency, and customer experience. Leverages advanced analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and precision execution, to influence key metrics - such as sales per square foot, inventory turnover, and shrink reduction - while enabling coordinated decision-making across merchandising, procurement, supply chain, and store operations.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Executes merchandising strategies, provides localized solutions reflecting store specific needs
• Analyze sales trends, inventory management, and shopper patterns to inform space planning decisions, ensuring sales and gross profits are meeting goals, while detecting and resolving problems as they occur
• Collaborate with merchandising, supply chain, and store operations teams, providing tactical expertise to align layouts with business objectives.
• Executes Merchandising special projects and new initiatives; recommends improvements
• Leverages tools, processes, and analytical skills to support capability growth

Work Experience

Qualifications & Key Requirements:

• 2 years Experience in a retail environment, with exposure to store operations, merchandising, inventory practices, and managing budgets - Required
  
  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures related to merchandising to complete difficult assignments - Required
• Strong conflict management skills - Required
• Strong organizational skills - Required
• Strong project management skills - Required
• Ability to communicate at all levels of management and partners - Required
  
  

Education

• A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience - Required
  
  

Licenses/Certifications

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Function in a fast-paced, office environment
• Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
• Work extended hours; sit for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more
