Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Maintenance / Troubleshooting / Repair & Replacement:
Buildings
- Performs basic office remodel skills
- Applies knowledge of proper dock maintenance methods
- Repairs / replaces basic plumbing fixtures
- Reads site drawings, symbols to repair / replace doors, walls, various types of flooring, and other types of materials used for building repair
- Repairs / installs power transmission equipment
- Repairs / replaces various types of mechanical apparatus containing bearings, belts, drives, sheaves, and sprockets
- Performs skill-level appropriate preventive maintenance (PM)
- Reads hydraulic schematics to repair / identify hydraulic system components
- Makes flow control adjustments and pressure adjustments to hydraulic / pneumatic equipment
- Performs skill-level appropriate PM on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Applies knowledge of wet systems
- Troubleshoots / repairs basic 120/277 VAC circuits for lighting and equipment
- Adheres to safe practices when working with electrical equipment
Work Experience
Qualifications & Key Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, welding, hydraulic / pneumatic systems, or construction trades - Required
- Working knowledge / understanding of the principles of 3-phase AC voltage sources (480 VAC), the functions and use of amp meters and multimeters, and Ohm's law - Required
- Working knowledge of different types of sprockets, bearings, v-belts, drive belts, and sheaves - Required
- Strong organization and time-management skills - Required
- Strong written / verbal communication and skills - Required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks; attention to detail - Required
- Initiative - Required
- HS Diploma or GED - Required
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Work while standing, sitting, stooping, walking, bending, with hands over head, and in prone position
- Climb; work from a ladder and other elevated work platforms (manlift, scissor lift, catwalk, silo)
- Lift and carry 75 lbs
- Work in extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 130 degrees
