Our product line includes solutions for soft serve, yogurt, shake, frozen beverages, hard pack/gelato batch freezers, and flavor systems. The company is currently located in East Moline, IL; but will be relocating to a larger facility off Interstate 80 in Davenport, IA by the end of calendar year 2026.
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager supports the Director of Finance by owning and executing core accounting, financial reporting, and transactional accounting activities, with direct responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s financial records through hands-on preparation, reconciliation, review, and analysis. This is a senior level individual contributor role, with no direct reports or formal people management responsibilities; the position performs daily accounting work while serving as a technical resource and process guide to others as needed. The role carries increased ownership of accounting processes, internal controls, and procedural improvements, with a primary focus on execution, compliance, problem solving, and analytical support.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Close

Own and actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Prepare, document, and post monthly journal entries, including recurring and non-routine entries.

Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.

Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related schedules.

Analyze financial results and prepare variance and bridge analyses.

Ensure financial reporting is completed in accordance with company deadlines and accounting standards.
Accounting Operations and Transactional Accounting

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate expense allocations.

Perform day-to-day accounting activities including reconciliations and transactional support.

Review Accounts Payable activity for appropriate general ledger classification and assist with payment runs as needed.

Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity.

Prepare and coordinate the preparation of sales and use tax returns and filings for multiple states.

Proactively identify variances or discrepancies and suggest possible resolutions.
Internal Controls and Compliance

Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and related documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Follow and support adherence to internal controls and accounting processes; identify and escalate control issues, discrepancies, or inefficiencies as appropriate.

Assist with external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

Cross Functional and Team Support

Provide technical support and guidance to other accounting team members as needed.

Serve as a reliable resource for routine accounting questions and data requests.

Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and finance to resolve discrepancies and improve data accuracy.

Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements within accounting workflows.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

CPA or progress toward CPA preferred but not required.

5–8 years of accounting experience, including hands-on involvement in transactional accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Prior experience in a senior accounting or informal leadership role preferred.

Manufacturing or cost accounting experience is a plus.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
