Monday, Wednesday, Friday Approximately 16-20 hours per week

Duties

• Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service with professional phone etiquette and clear communication.
• Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR).
• Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorization and verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers.
• Collect and process payments, handle medical collections, and assist with billing procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage medical records by filing, retrieving, and updating patient information accurately within various EHR systems.
• Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with medical coding standards including CPT, ICD-9/10 coding, and ICD coding updates.
• Handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while managing appointment scheduling, patient intake forms, and follow-up communications.
• Support clinic operations by assisting with medical administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining organized office files.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
• Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
• Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare documentation requirements.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing).
• Exceptional patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
• Prior clinic office experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills for managing front desk duties such as appointment scheduling, filing medical records, and handling multi-line phones.
