What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic position at H.A.T. Mobile Diesel Repair?
Key Responsibilities
- Performs daily inspections of equipment on site to ensure they are ready for use and are in working order.
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles.
- Performs emergency spot repairs to get equipment back to a safe and operating condition.
- Drives company service truck to different locations for repairs on the go
- Checks fluids in all equipment as well as air pressure and other critical systems to the equipment.
- Troubleshoots, tests and diagnose equipment and company trucks that are in need of repair.
- Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years prior experience in diesel repair and maintenance.
- Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic is preferred.
- DOT Certification is preferred.
- Ability to weld on site and on the go.
- Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
- Proven commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization.
- Valid clean state driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen & criminal background check.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft office and uploading documents and pictures.
Physical Requirements
- Stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- See well (naturally or with correction).
- Eye-hand coordination.
- Good physical fitness.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
