GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking an experienced EHS Project Manager with a minimum of 7 years of experience to support our EHS practice in our Glastonbury, Connecticut office.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulatory Compliance consulting. This position requires excellent leadership qualities, with a history of successfully managing projects and staff in a collaborative work environment, and demonstrated experience developing scope and budget proposals, schedules, reports, and presentations. The candidate should be self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented, quality focused, safety-minded, and must be able to multi-task. The successful candidate will present themselves in a professional manner, being able to communicate effectively and have a positive work attitude that fosters relationships with clientele. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to produce technical reports, prepare permits, and submit time-sensitive documents to various government agencies. Proven client management and business development skills are key requirements as are a demonstrated ability to grow and foster existing client relationships and proactively identify project opportunities and develop new clients.

- Environmental Compliance (Hazardous Waste Management, EPCRA Section 312 and 313 submittals, SPCC, Stormwater, UST regulations, Wastewater Permitting, etc.)
- Environmental Auditing
- Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)
- OSHA 1910 and 1926 Safety Compliance
- Safety Auditing
- Experienced EHS Trainer
- Industrial Hygiene Experience
- Experienced Technical Writer
Qualifications:
- Desire to lead and grow a technical EHS practice in Connecticut
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental, Health, and Safety, and/or Environmental Science (Master’s Degree a plus)
- Relevant local experience with regulatory knowledge and working relationships with the Connecticut business community, and federal, state, and local agencies
- Professional Certifications strongly desired
- Desire to manage and mentor staff and review and evaluate their work while fostering staff growth and development
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills and judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, design team members, and contractors.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 8-hr Supervisor’s certifications
- Ability to travel throughout Connecticut to support projects. Travel to other New England and adjacent states may be necessary at times.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and knowledge of relevant technical software a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
