GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to join our Contractor Services Division in Norwood, MA. The successful candidate must have a solid educational background and be self-motivated with a professional attitude.
For this position, you will work on a fast-paced and high-performing team of Scientists, Engineers, Project Managers, and Principals. We are a fully “in-person” team and our close-knit culture will allow you to grow professionally alongside your colleagues while working on challenging and high-profile projects. You will be mentored by seasoned professionals, who will in turn seek your input and ideas. Our success relies on this collaborative, friendly, and professional environment.
This position will include a mix of field and office tasks. When not at project sites, you will work in a professional office setting, completing field documentation, data analyses, technical reporting, and implementing new technology. There will be opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of a project including project document review and the preparation of proposals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performing field tasks including the installation of Geotechnical, Structural, and Environmental instrumentation systems.
- Assemble, test, and maintain various types of instrumentation hardware and telemetry.
- Work with software for data management and visualization for various types of automated field sensors.
- Performing deep foundation testing including technical analysis.
- Construction observation and documentation.
- Writing drafts of field reports and other technical documents.
- Reviewing project documents and preparing cost proposals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Geological, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- 1 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Strong skillset utilizing Microsoft software products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to travel locally and regionally.
- Ability to safely work using hand tools.
- A valid driver’s license in good standing.
