Show Cattle Herdsman/Farm Manager

Gypsy Creek Ranch is looking for a full time Herdsman to assist in the health and well-being of our show cattle herd and operation. It is our goal to compete nationally with animals bred and raised on our farm, and to sell quality show and breeding animals to help financially support that goal. We have proven National Champion winning cattle in our pasture and it is our goal to continue that success with our kids. We are looking for an experienced person to join our team and assist in obtaining those goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to the following):

· Daily Animal Care/Herd Checks

· Calving

· Clipping and Fitting

· Feed Management

· Managing and Preparing animals for shows

· AI and other forms of artificial breeding and production

· Breaking and conditioning animals for show and sale

· General Animal Care and Well Being

· Managing Care of Cattle Equipment

· Stocking and Ordering Show Supplies

· Show Animal Selecting (Livestock Judging Experience a Plus)

· Vaccination and Record Keeping

· Bred Registry and Paper Management

Educational & Experience Requirements:

· General Farm Work

· Breeding Options/Selections

· Equipment Operating

· Equipment Care

· No Criminal Record

· Drug Free

· DOT Medical Card preferred.

Essential Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision. The employee must also be able to travel regularly for work and operate a motor vehicle.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

• Farming: 1 year (Preferred)
