Medical Receptionist – GYN Practice

We are looking for a warm, professional, and highly organized Medical Receptionist to become an essential part of our busy GYN practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating a positive, welcoming experience while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our front office.

Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and compassion.
- Check patients in and out efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Answer multi-line phones, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
- Collect patient co-pays and process payments accurately.
- Assist patients with registration forms and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
- Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Monitor front office supplies and assist with inventory and reordering.
- Keep the reception area organized, clean, and welcoming.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure outstanding patient care and efficient office workflow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical receptionist or medical office experience preferred (minimum 1 year).
- Experience in an OB/GYN or women's healthcare office is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience verifying insurance and collecting patient payments.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR); experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) and Intergy is highly preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
