Position Summary:

We are searching for a SECOND shift Operator this individual will fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts using fit-for-purpose fixtures, tools and machines, including Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines. Requires understanding of machining mathematics including GD&T, as well as using measurement results to make necessary adjustments to the process. Ability to change a machine to a different part number as well as set up new production operations on specific machines without supervision. Ability to train others to Level 1 or Level 2 Machinist responsibilities.
Role & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machines as programmed or perform manual operations with special skill requirements.
- Apply GD&T principles, problem solving techniques and machining experience to provide expert trouble shooting of the machine or process.
- Establish visual standards that aid operators in detecting defects and anomalies.
- Where needed, propose alternate gauging methods to ensure parts conform to all stated requirements from the process or operation just completed.
- Meet production and quality goals.
- Maintain machines as required and keep a clean and clear work area.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills.
- 3-5 years as a machine operator or tradesman in a manufacturing environment
Facility & Support Responsibilities
In addition to machining, this role supports overall facility operations:
- Maintain a clean, organized machine and work area.
- Perform scheduled machine maintenance.
- Monitor tooling inventory and order replacements as needed.
- Perform facility housekeeping.
- Receive incoming materials and place items into inventory.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in firearms or defense manufacturing
- Experience in OEM machining environments
- Forklift certification or experience
Job Details:
- This is a Monday through Thursday position with a 4/10 schedule (four 10-hour shifts). Standard hours are 3PM to 1:30 AM.
- The facility is fully air-conditioned and equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and technology.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may require the following over extended periods of time up to a full 8-hour work shift (excluding lunch and breaks): stand, walk, sit, squat or bend, kneel and rise, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to — and occasionally exceeding — 50 pounds, view a computer or other digital screen, work on a computer, workstation or comparable system, and make accurate entries in such systems. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are required for detailed assembly and precision work. Work may take place in areas with varying temperatures or no climate control, varying noise levels, and production equipment in motion. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas at all times as required by company policy.
