Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Sr. Manager of Strategic Planning to lead the planning and scheduling of all manufacturing operations and product processing activities. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule to ensure alignment with customer demand, capacity, and resource availability. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in production scheduling or manufacturing operations planning within a fast-paced, high-mix environment.

This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may require the following over extended periods of time up to a full 8-hour work shift (excluding lunch and breaks): stand, walk, sit, squat or bend, kneel and rise, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to — and occasionally exceeding — 50 pounds, view a computer or other digital screen, work on a computer, workstation or comparable system, and make accurate entries in such systems. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are required for detailed assembly and precision work. Work may take place in areas with varying temperatures or no climate control, varying noise levels, and production equipment in motion. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas at all times as required by company policy. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable individuals with disabilities but are always subject to safety concerns for the employee and all team members. Employer may require a physical assessment of the candidate’s ability to perform these tasks as a condition of an offer letter. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule across multiple facilities and product lines to meet delivery, quality, and cost objectives.
- Analyze capacity, material availability, and labor resources to proactively identify constraints and adjust schedules as needed.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams to align priorities and resolve bottlenecks.
- Utilize ERP (Epicor) and supporting systems to monitor work order progress, forecast production needs, and track key performance indicators.
- Conduct daily and weekly scheduling meetings to communicate priorities and ensure cross-functional alignment.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to streamline scheduling processes, reduce lead times, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Evaluate production performance against schedule adherence metrics and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Develop and maintain long-range capacity planning models to support forecasting and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in production scheduling, master scheduling, or operations planning within a manufacturing environment (defense or precision manufacturing preferred).
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor experience preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules across multiple departments or facilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
