WR Trades Supervisor (Tanks and Boosters)

Job Description
This position is responsible for supervising lower-level staff, maintaining portions of budgets, and is considered to have journey level experience in area of assignment. This position will be required to perform work on highly specialized equipment, installing and maintaining electrical / electronic devices, measuring and controlling instrumentation and plant process control systems associated with Pumping and Booster stations, water and wastewater plants.

Essential Duties

• Provide training and technical support, and direct personnel in the proper repair/replacement of equipment.
• Must be able to trouble-shoot equipment to determine the cause of any problems and make accurate and timely decisions with respect to repairs and/or replacements.
• Position may also act as a liaison between the department and on-site contractors.
• Assists in training personnel on proper safety precautions and ensures a safe working environment.
• Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, and ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures.

Other Job Requirements/Information

• This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
• This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.

Grade
The grade for this position is B31(3). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
 
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
 
Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D; AND
• Five years of related work experience, including one year of lead experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
• Valid Commerical Driver's License (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications

• Class I or II electrical licensee
• Industrial Maintenance experience
• Experience with various types of pumps
• Basic electrical skills and the ability to read basic schematics
