Job Description

The Systems and Technology Planning Manager will focus on the management of technology projects, resource management including budgets and coordination of resources, strategic planning, and serve as a technology liaison between Gwinnett ITS, Water Resources, and other county departments as needed on technology initiatives.

Essential Duties

• Technology management
• IT infrastructure, software applications, and licensing.
• Upgrades and new implementations.
• Project leadership
• Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects including managing project scope and timelines.
• Resource management
• Build relationships and allocate resources effectively.

• Strong technical understanding and application to business processes.
• Excellent communications skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to drive complex initiatives and manage diverse stakeholders.

Grade

The grade for this position is C52(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field; AND
• Five years of planning experience, including two years of supervisory experience; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
• Valid Driver's License from state of residency

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications

• Proven experience as an IT Manager, IT Analyst, IT Consultant, or similar role
• Experience in project management
• Experience documenting technical requirements
• Experience with technology infrastructure projects involving fiber, network connectivity, wireless access, and general network connectivity
• Experience with technology software projects involving various software applications, as well as management of applications.
• Proficiency in MS applications – Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
