What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Clerk - Health and Human Services position at Gwinnett County?
This Part-time Clerk position will be performing a variety of basic clerical office functions, which may include typing; filing; copying; faxing; opening, sorting, and distributing mail; and performing other related activities. The ideal candidate will need a thorough understanding of the assigned area, and be flexible, all while providing exceptional customer service and working well under pressure.
Essential Duties
- Greeting and assisting customers and the public in a front-desk setting
- Answering and directing phone calls from the public
- Informing the general public about services
- Processing and entering data and creating simple documents
- Performing office procedures and methods with applicable software
- Operating office equipment, such as computers, faxes, etc.
- Interacting with and assisting senior center participants for various functions, including scheduling transportation for participants, processing payments for classes and activities, and checking in seniors for lunch
- Making announcements to large groups
- Conducting tours of the senior center
- This job requires fingerprinting.
- This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
$15.75/hour
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of general office experience
- One year of customer service experience
