Primary Responsibilities: The Chief Accountability Officer (CAO) position is responsible for leading student and program research, performance measurement and reporting practices for all parts of the district to support timely and reliable monitoring of district, departmental and school-based administrative and instructional programs by employing data-driven decision-making management practices. In addition, the CAO leads grant and fundraising activities for the district.
1. Supervise the development of goals, preparation of short and long-range plans, and the implementation of programs and services for assessment, grant development and planning that align with the district's strategic plan and strategic planning process.
2. Conduct evaluations of key GCPS program initiatives as a means of informing the superintendent, deputy superintendent, Board, and community as to the effectiveness of GCPS programming and recommendations for improvement.
3. Oversees the administration of the state assessment program as directed by the Georgia Department of Education.
4. Analyze assessment data for national, state and district assessment programs to prepare data for release to the public.
5. Coordinate program evaluation services for the school system; provide leadership in planning, developing, administering, interpreting, and reporting the district's evaluation programs and procedures, broker evaluation services between schools and external evaluators.
6. Provide data analysis and reporting, design data collections strategies; collect and/or assemble data; design basic information services to facilitate the analysis of data; identify and apply appropriate statistical analysis; produce graphical, tabular, and narrative summaries of data and statistical analysis; write reports and executive summaries of findings.
7. Conduct statistical analysis of academic initiatives with focus on improving student achievement; analyze student data, coaches, principals, and teachers on the use of data to make informed decisions.
8. Provide overall leadership and supervision of the district's progress and performance measurement system that includes information from all parts of the district to (1) support the timely monitoring of district wide and school wide administrative and instructional programs, and (2) measure and report on progress and performance to meet the information needs of various staffs throughout the district and various stakeholders throughout the community.
9. Oversees federal and state accountability requirements related to Every Student Succeeds Act legislation in the district, and local accountability requirements.
10. Coordinate, facilitate, and manage administrative activities, programs, and personnel in accordance with the system's Theory of Action, Mission, Vision, and Core Beliefs and Commitments.
11. Manage development and oversight of planning initiatives with local and state government.
12. Participate as district representative in multi-agency efforts aimed at planning related community involvement projects.
13. Develop goals and objectives that support the GCPS Theory of Action, Mission, Vision, and Core Beliefs and Commitments.
14. Provide leadership and oversight in the development and maintenance of the annual budgets.
15. Attend School Board meetings, providing information and presentations as required.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
