,
Gwinnett County Public Library is expanding its family literacy initiatives thanks to a $350,000 grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York. This funding supports the growth of our free Family Literacy English Classes, offered in partnership with Gwinnett County Public Schools and the Newcomer Center.
These classes focus on supporting adult learners as they strengthen practical English skills for daily life, work, and family engagement. We are currently seeking volunteers and instructors—ideal for TESOL/TEFL students and graduates, educators, and retirees interested in adult education, facilitation, and community-based teaching.
No prior experience is required. Free training and instructional materials are provided, making this a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience teaching adults in a welcoming, supportive environment while making a meaningful community impact.
To learn more, join our Virtual Community Information Session on Wednesday, December 17 at 4 00 PM via Zoom. Together, we are empowering adult learners and strengthening families through literacy and service.
