1. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Assembly Technician is responsible for performing a variety of production functions and assembly.
2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

- Responsible for manufacturing/assembly of valve components in accordance to the procedures, drawings and bill of materials and work order using hand and power tools.
- Support plant quality system goals to ensure all work performed meets quality standards.
- Verify that paperwork is completed to this stage and information matches product.
- Notify supervisory personnel if a nonconforming condition is disclosed.
3. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Involve extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching.
- Regularly required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, sit, climb, talk or hear.
- Lift and/or move objects: Regularly: 10-50lbs.; Occasionally: up to 100 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
4. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Often work in indoor environments that do not have heat or air conditioning.
- May occasionally work outdoors.
- Wear safety attire, such as safety glasses, safety gloves and other as applicable.
- Work close to other people, such as when sharing office space.
- May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.
5. TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES:
- Must be familiar with safety practices for equipment, lock-out/tag-out, and use of personnel protection equipment (PPE).
- Must possess a current Fork Truck Awareness certification and Visual Acuity certification.
6. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have at a minimum of a high school diploma or hold a GED certificate.
- Work experience with valves, valve assembly and testing building mechanical devices preferred, but not required.
- Mechanically incline highly recommended.
- A clear understanding of the use of manufacturing tools and equipment.
- Must have understanding and strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations.
- Must be able to read assembly blueprints/drawings and bills of materials.
- Strong communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within an organization.
