Property Caretaker & Handyman (Part-Time)
Location: Stevensville, MI
We are looking for a dependable local Property Caretaker to help maintain our vacation rental duplex. We manage the property remotely and are looking for someone who can be our trusted local contact and help keep the property guest-ready.
ResponsibilitiesRegular Property Visits (1–2 times per month)
Typical visits are 1–2 hours and include:
- Inspect the interior and exterior of both units
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs
- Check for leaks, damage, safety concerns, and other issues
- Replace air filters and complete basic preventative maintenance as needed
- Restock owner-provided supplies
- Take photos and provide a brief update after each visit
Local Contact
- Serve as the local contact for the property as required by local regulations.
- Coordinate with owners, guests, contractors, and service providers when an on-site visit is needed.
Emergency Response
Respond to urgent property issues such as:
- Plumbing leaks
- Electrical or breaker issues
- Smart lock or entry problems
- HVAC concerns
- Water intrusion
- Other minor repairs or emergencies
When repairs require a licensed contractor, help coordinate access and keep the owners informed.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Comfortable performing general handyman work
- A good communicator
- Able to respond to occasional emergencies
- Comfortable using a smartphone to send photos and updates
Compensation
- Scheduled visits: $50/hour (1-hour minimum)
- Emergency calls: $50 call-out fee plus $50/hour while on-site
Expected Workload
- 1–2 scheduled visits per month
- Occasional emergency calls as needed
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
