What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Auditor position at GW Lisk Company Inc?
Overview:
The Internal Auditor will report directly to VP Quality. The auditor performs audits of varying complexity and facilitates 2nd and 3rd party audits and corrective actions. They recommend improvements to systems, processes and the internal audit program, all in collaboration with the Lisk team at large. The auditor is an effective communicator, upholding great relationships with functions outside of Quality. The position requires physical presence in Clifton Springs, NY.
Technical Responsibilities
- Planning, scoping, coordinating and conducting QMS audits related to manufacturing, environmental management and special processes aligned with applicable industry standards
- Performs follow-up on the status of effectiveness for identified nonconformances from previously completed audits and ensures look across covers all applicable departments.
- Coordinates and leads customer audits by facilitating the event and demonstrating QMS processes. Manages any required follow up.
- Champions compliance to standards and other requirements throughout the business.
- Participates in cross-functional writing of standard procedures and recommends enhancements as needed.
- Coaches others on audit practices and techniques.
Position Requirements
Required
- Team player with strong cross-functional cooperation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, good organizational and analytical skills, and project management experience.
- Ability to perform risk assessments to identify audit areas and recommend plans.
- Familiar with business process flows in a typical manufacturing entity.
- Due to company ITAR restrictions must be a US Citizen or permanent green card holder. Visa sponsorship will not be entertained for this position.
Preferred
- Familiarity with aerospace and automotive industry standards
- Experience working in manufacturing environments in multiple disciplines; machining, assembly, testing, heat treating, plating, welding, electrical testing.
- Experience with continuous improvement projects
Education
- A Bachelor's degree is highly desired, preferably in engineering or business administration.
- Some previous experience either with auditing or quality engineering.
- Auditor certification a bonus but not a prerequisite.

Compensation: $74,000.00 - $90,000.00 annual base salary based experience
