GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of Senior Data Analyst to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will help support the Data Analytics initiatives by building ad hoc and insightful reports, providing GVEC with a holistic view of their data to facilitate informed business decisions. This role is ideal for a highly self-motivated individual with a strong passion for data and problem-solving, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills. How You’ll Help

• Develop efficient, user-friendly reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Perform testing, validation and troubleshooting of datasets and reports to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Mentor junior analysts by guiding on best practices and technical skills
• Contribute to the development of data strategy, including tooling, architecture and process improvements
• Train and support business users on the effective use of BI tools and reports
• Leverage both on-premises and cloud-based data sources to drive data-informed decision-making
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand evolving business needs
• Support additional data analysis tasks as assigned to meet organizational goals

Experience/Skills You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or other relevant degree with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role
• Hands-on experience with BI tools including Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms
• Communicate insights effectively and recommend data-driven solutions to stakeholders
• Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills; able to perform accurately and efficiently under pressure
• Self-motivated and collaborative, capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; strong leadership and organizational skills
• Proficient in writing SQL queries for databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle and Firebird
• Experience with statistical programming and analysis using R or Python
• Experience identifying business problems and translating them into data analysis objectives

Preferred Experience/Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Desktop and service, M Language, DAX, and Power Query
• Microsoft certifications such as Power BI Data Analyst Associate and/or Fabric Analytics Engineer
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling and data cleansing techniques
• Skilled in developing and maintaining standard and custom business reports for various stakeholders
• Manage reusable templates, models and assets to streamline reporting and analysis
