JOB SUMMARY:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the organization's buildings, equipment, and grounds. This role ensures that all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
JOB SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Inspect buildings and systems to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Monitor and maintain building systems such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and services.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, emergency exits).
- Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
- Oversee management of the HVAC systems
- Oversee the pest management inside the building and building perimeters
- Maintain lighting, plumbing and septic system
- Manage internal storage rooms - assist with barrel inventory
- Manage general and specific housecleaning
- Assist with equipment deliveries
- Grounds - Maintain all property enclosed within the fenced area.
- Manage grounds security with landlord
- Maintain clear passage for delivery vehicles and company personnel
- Manage dumpsters
- Manage Hazardous waste storage area
- Monitor pest traps for integrity
- Prepare facility grounds for winter weather
- Control bare ground areas of plant growth
- *All other duties as assigned*
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities technician role.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Organizational skills
- Inventory experience
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
