BM z/OS Operating System – installation, configuration, customization, and upgrades.
JCL (Job Control Language) – creating, debugging, and optimizing batch jobs.
System Utilities & Tools – ISPF, TSO, SDSF, REXX, CLIST.
System Programming – SMP/E, PARMLIB customization, PROCLIB management.
Subsystems Expertise (at least some of the following):
JES2/JES3 (Job Entry Subsystems)
RACF/ACF2/Top Secret (Security management)
VTAM, TCP/IP (Networking)
CICS, IMS, DB2 (middleware/database knowledge a plus)
Storage Management – DFSMS, DFHSM, DASD, Tape management.
Disaster Recovery/Backup – GDPS, SRDF, FlashCopy, replication tools.
Performance and Capacity Management – RMF, SMF, OMEGAMON, Mainview, or similar.
Automation Tools – NetView, Tivoli System Automation, OPS/MVS.
